{Waiting …}

This week has been a … hmm, well, a rather discouraging week.

Sometimes, you know how it is, it all just feels like everything is coming tumbling down on you. Your work load, your schedules, your to-do lists … trying to do it all, trying to keep the kids entertanined, put homemade meals on the dinner table each night, clean the house, run a business, keep up with orders, stop the dog from barking, filling the cupboards with delicious and healthy food, conquer sixteen loads of laundry per week – all while still having a wonderful time and creating memories with your children, trying not to let each day slip by without being grateful for the blessings that God has given you in this lifetime.

Yet sometimes, just some days … you can just fall to the ground in a pathetic heap and have a good cry.

Maybe I’m PMsing.

Who knows. (Actually, shouldn’t I know?!)

However, I’ve also been dealing with an issue that has really cut dear to my heart – this is not the first time this has happened but, well, when something like this comes along, I take it very personally. I don’t want to get too much into it because it’s all just negative and garbage, but I really hope local photographers will start finding their own inspiration and ideas elsewhere – at least from another photography business outside of their own town.

Sometimes, my hubby just shakes his head and scolds me for taking on too much …

But all this negative force aside, THIS, THIS is why I do what I do … shooting this amazing, magical maternity session healed my heart tonight.

As I’m creating the images and working with my families – in this case, Jenee –  the oh so gorgeous amazing momma-to-be! – my heart feels full.

My head spins with ideas.

My soul is bursting with joy and peace.

I connect with my beautiful new friends (Jenee,  you know we’re kindred spirits!) and  capture such priceless moments in time of their family history.

I drove home from this session, singing, my heart full of joy, a smile on my lips and a feeling of absolute peace in my heart. And I thank God for that – because  no matter how many negative attacks I may face (as we all do), I am working this business with integrity and a complete love for the work and the clients and friends I serve.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart  and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge him and He will direct your paths.”

Proverbs 3:5,6

Jenee, you are such a gorgeous momma to be … wow! …  and the love between you and your husband was just beautiful – what an amazing couple you are!

Catherine Gillian, NO ONE can take photographs the way you do. It just comes from your soul, and you capture the essence of your clients. I feel blessed to know you, and consider you a friend.

I have to say, I also LOVE the photo you do. It looks like you caught her having a communion with God!

Mich Gillian, These are absolutely gorgeous pics of a maternity session. I think my favorite yet. You just found a way to capture some much emotion in her face and the love within her family. I am so looking forward to booking an upcoming maternity session of my own, I have never done that before with the girls and just know what amazing images you will capture. Stay strong and now that we all believe and treasure your work and friendship – you are one of a kind, who no matter what – can not be copied!!! XoXo
