{tiny bit about me}

As a former journalist-turned-professional-photographer, this blog  started off as an expression of my love for writing and photography. It has, through the years, has merged into a blog about my daily life with six Little Women & two (now, three!) Little Men, being the wife to an Undertaker, homeschooling our children, living life in our old farmhouse in the country, canning our food from the garden, chasing chickens and cooking all our meals in an old fashioned cookstove.

My focus was once mostly photography but now, after a few years of heart change and soul searching, the Lord has shown me how wonderful it is to be a stay at home mom to my children and a helpmate to my husband, to delight in the normal, regular happenings of everyday, often messy, mostly fun, life. It is a humble yet holy calling.
Perhaps in some tiny way, this blog will be an encouragement to you – as a young woman, a future mom, a photographer – to see the beauty God has scattered in every day and treasure the moments as they happen.

If you drop by, you will no doubt find a pot of tea brewing, clean laundry drying on the line,  some chickens scratching in the garden, perhaps a few geese wandering about —  and lots of children playing all around.

Lovelyn Gillian, I was praying for your Lovelyn tonight as I do sometimes and I realized how long it had been since I checked here. I’m so glad you’re still writing and photographing. And your family is still growing! Congratulations! Sending you my love! (I’m mostly on Instagram now–are you there?)

Loredana I love your stuff, but more than that I LOVE how you proclaim Jesus in your life! I too love Jesus and now a days it seems shameful to be open like that but I see it as a beautiful challenge. The Lord will bless your business because you put HIM first, I am doing the same and know in faith He will make my photography business prosperous and well known. I want it to glorify Him and the beauty and life He created! Good work, you are awesome!! I wish I could meet you in person =)
