Lyla, Lyla, Lyla …

I can barely believe it but my middle L-girlie, Lyla, is turning THREE in less than two weeks. Wow. Insane.

Speaking of insane, if you have ready any of my blog posts about Lyla, you would know that she is our spirited, full of life, so-much-fun-and-so-much-work, determind middle child. Yes, this week, we installed new locks on all the doors (locks that are WAY at the top of the door so her sneaky fingers can’t reach them) after we discovered – much to my absolute horror! – that she can unlock the doors in our house by standing on her bike seat and reaching up to unlatch the screen doors … sheesh.

This is my child that not only  gets into all the trouble, she finds it.  She finds the baby powder and decorates her bedroom with it. She fakes a sore foot for a week and a half to the point where we got her x-rayed and doctors just shook their head and said nothing was wrong. (Wow.) Her dresses are the only ones from all the three girls that have to run through the wash cycle four times due to stains. Her hair is still crazy after the ridiculous-dreadful hair chopping incident. She’s the one child that has disappeared within seconds on all grandparents during social functions. (Very scary!) She can find anything you hide in the house. She is the loudest girl in the Gauthier home. She is the craziest girl in the Gauthier home. When she was 9 months old, she was tagged with Tarzan Lyla because it suited her so well.

But she makes our hearts smile. She brings so much colour and joy (and grey hairs, I have to admit!) to our life. She makes us all laugh at the dinner table with her silly prayers and humourous tales. She loves to perform and make her sisters giggle. She potty trained herself on her second birthday. She loves her blankie to bits. She loves rides and roller coasters and swinging as high as she can swing in the backyard. She kills all the bugs for us.

She keeps us on our toes – and we love our little dark haired beauty.

She’s such a stinker …

“Who me?”  Yes, YOU, Lyla.

lyla33

“What? You want me to do what, momma?”

lyla35

“Oh, you want me to sit and look pretty? I can do that … Lyla style … pffft. This is a piece of cake.”

Lori S You made my day with your story! What a cold, wet drizzly day (And Adam’s birthday no less!) Thanks for blogging! I think that you’ve done an awesome job hiding the fact that Lyla is the world’s most creative hair stylist! Her hair (from the pictures) looks VERY trendy right now! I hope that you’re having fantastic day… keep exercising!! (Funny how you always want what you don’t have. Sis and I have been “blessed”, and I’m doing everything in power to lessen the “blessing”!)
