It comes every year …
The infamous Fall Fair.
We love it.
The ol’ country fall fair, in which the Gauthier girls wrangle up every pet and animal they can to enter the fair competition,
bake up green and white cupcakes and create edible necklaces with {fairy} godmothers to enter the baking category…
… the place where little girls excitedly race to see the judge’s final verdict for their categories …
… a simple weekend where country memories are made as we walk through barns filled with fresh hay and show-worthy cows, donkeys, chickens and horses …
… where we see old friends and eat over priced hot dogs, collect many green balloons and yes, even various coveted first, second, third, and fourth prize ribbons…
… where little girls show off their brute strength by pulling their own weight in the kiddie tractor pull {and if you don’t know what this event is, I’m not sure it’s worth explaining!}…
and manage to surprise us all by winning over all the boys and placing first in her weight category …
{Well done, our shy little Lacey!}
A place where the girls and our family collect sweet memories with the almost-full-grown hens…
and collect first prize ribbons for our new, larger-than-life rooster … and although Rocky put up quite the fight to show his protest to visiting the fair, I do think he finds that fancy red ribbon worth it all in the end.
