The Day I Fell for a Cow.

I must admit … I have a dream of owning my own [milking] cow  … one day [soon].

It may seem strange and my husband often laughs … a bit nervously … wondering if it will actually come to pass. My girls know I pray for this opportunity, if it is the Lord’s will … and they often draw pictures of cows grazing in fields or bring home dollar store cow trinkets and give them to me  in humour…

So when my friend [owner of Old Country Farms in Amaranth] told me she was feeding an orphaned cow at her farm, I knew my girls [ okay, maybe me? more?] would love to meet her …. and … truly, she is, by far, one of the cutest calves I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

About two weeks ago, Endora was left for dead when her mother died during her birth. The kind-hearted Jen Kendall refused to let her die and is bottle feeding her back to health. From what I see, it seems to be working. Endora is a beautiful, growing calf … with a fabulous appetite! 🙂

[such personalities reflected in each face here – determination, joy and is that disdain … or perhaps fear?!]

Yes, one day … [honestly, don’t laugh] …. maybe the Lord will hear my prayers and I too will have a calf to call my own … a girl can wish …
