Find the Silver Lining.

Ever had one of those days? Pffftt. Who am I kidding? Of course you have.

They’re hard to get through, eh?

This is a rundown of my morning (for my friends on facebook, sorry, but you will hear me whine a second time!):

-Lyla flooded the toilets this morning (too much toilet paper) – it literally spilled all over and flooded the bathroom floor

– treck out to the grocery store with the three girls … you know the kind of store that has only boxes so your groceries weigh about 60 lbs per box and you’re supposed to pile all those boxes in with your two kids in the cart?! Uh, yeah, I don’t think so.

– realize I still needed to find a location for today’s (awesomely-super-fun) session – drive around, three kids getting hungry as we dangerously approach lunch hour

– get home in time to start unloading the groceries which were quickly requiring refigeration after the long morning location-search-drive

– door opens and dog runs away … I chase her … bring her home, scold her …

– doorbell rings and voila, answer to my prayers, the Mr. Invisible Fence Man shows up to give us an estimate – which, at this point, I don’t care what it costs, I KNOW we need it!

– spend 45 minutes with Mr. Invisible Fence – kids are whining, crying, so hungry for lunch – so they break into the groceries and start ripping apart the cereal boxes to get a snack

– dog runs away again, I chase her.

– Lucia wakes up from her quick nap in the car, pees in her car seat. Mr Invisible Fence Man is still here. Pee and all.

– Finally, putting away groceries. Kids are STARVING. Lunch is made …

– Laundry needs to get up on the line and two other loads, awaiting their turn, are tossed into the washer.

– Try to call a client but the number I wrote down is wrong – kids are very loud in the background … so send them outside …

– Lyla decides to draw all over the ceiling of our new truck with pen – daddy finds out, freaks out and  nearly has a heart attack (not literally) as he’s dragging my new prop into the front yard  where he has to unload the Suburban seats YET AGAIN for me so that the prop can fit into the truck…

– decide there’s no way through this day without something awesome … so I pulled out the ice cream cones and topped them up with my favorite ice cream (mint chocolate chip – thank you, Michelle!) and the kids were ECSTASTIC.

All is calm now, all is good. Dinner is made and one little L is napping … we’re getting our Invisible Fence next week and I couldn’t be happier. 🙂

But focusing on the positive, I have an amazing opportunity today to shoot a session for Kim Persona, aka. Mrs. Pinkerton from Pinkalicious the Musical. I went to see the show with the girls last year and we loved EVERY second of it! Really looking forward to working with Kim today!

And I had an awesomely-fun maternity session on the weekend … Jennifer, who is having her third baby boy soon, has been bringing her family to me for quite a few years now – it’s so awesome to have a friendship with your clients, as well!

Jenn Thanks for making me feel so fabulous! Sorry you had one of those days. For some reason today, I decided would be a great day to take the kids to the zoo. By myself. Eight months pregnant. The kids had fun! We have had invisible fence for Kenobi for about 9 out of his 10 years, and LOVE it. If you need any help or suggestions, let me know and I will email you more info. Thanks again, especially love the one of Peter and I, I think I’ll go give him a kiss!
