My {Little} Lemon.

It really doesn’t matter how many children you have birthed or how many pregnancies you have … the joy, the excitement, the feeling of anticipation … it just doesn’t get old.

We’ve juuuust reached 12 weeks with this pregnancy of ours. Baby #4 is now the size of a little lemon, according to the website I was reading.

Not very big yet … but growing all the same. Wahooo!
So picture this – last night, I was lying (or is it laying? I always forget) in bed, proofing away in the dark by the blue light of my laptop when I looked down to where my hand was resting on my stomach …. I moved my hand away from the belly button and could NOT believe my eyes.
My baby was rolling around, moving, having a party and I not only feel it, I could see it ALL happening ….

At 12 weeks? No way! I thought it’s gotta be something else … (dare I say, gas – but – gasp! Ladies don’t get gas!) … so I waited and watched some more. I stared. Couldn’t believe it. But it was definitely moving around and creating a little visual show for his/her momma. Squealing, I slapped hubby on his arm to wake him up from his very deep, snoring slumber … and while it took him a few minutes to awake from the sleepy fog, he couldn’t believe his eyes, as well! It was amazing! We both sat there and watched the little baby jump around and just giggled watching the amazing new stage of this pregnancy.

Do you remember seeing (not just feeling) that first movement with your baby? Was it this early? I remember seeing Lyla move in the womb but I was more about five months… not 12 weeks. I’m seeing my doctor this week (hey, Amy!) and am wondering if I’m wrong … but it was the MOST AWESOME thing I’ve ever seen … simply because it’s so much earlier than I expected and came as a complete surprise. I really didn’t think I’d feel movement or SEE movement until 14 or 15 weeks.

Now, I feel even more connected and even more in love with my little lemon …:)

Jamie I felt movement at about 13 weeks (or at least I thought I did) with my second. It truly makes it more real when you feel little nudging from within!
I used that website as well. I also used baby2see.com because of the great pictures that went along with each week.

Tara I remember that website 🙂 We used that too! So fun to compare the baby’s size to something that you can see around you. That’s SO exciting to feel movement! I know I felt movement much earlier with baby #2, but I think it was at 14 weeks. I started to SEE him move at about 20 weeks. It’s probably because you’re a small figure? ADORABLE pics of baby Taylor!! Love the ones with Mom and Dad!!
