Is it terrible that I just snuck upstairs into a different room, sat down at the girls’ little coloring table and am having a mini Chinese food feast all to myself? I have already fed the girls the lunch. That’s not the issue. They had a lovely pasta lunch, but it doesn’t matter how much they eat, if they see me eating, they will come over and eat my food. I have to “eat-and-sneak” sometimes. So I just did. Ahhh. It’s so peaceful and calm and I’m eating such a lovely dinner. Mmmmm.
Should I feel guilty? Cuz’ I don’t!
Oh wait, footsteps on the stairs. Loud thudding ones. That must mean it’s Lyla. Yup, wait, there she is …
“Mommmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaa????”
She has now found me. She has sat her three year old little body down beside me on the tiny, green wooden chair and she has taken my fork from my hands is eating my delicious yummy steamed chicken rice off my plate …
There goes lunch.
Oh, and here comes Lacey now, too ….
Well, it was lovely while it lasted.
My job after this lunch break is to clean out underneath Lacey’s bed. Apparently, all these weeks she’s been “cleaning” her room has meant she has been stuffing and hiding everything under the bed curtain. Hmm. And I was so proud of her cleaning – “Look, look how well Lacey cleans her room now,” I would say, opening the door and showing my Hubalicious when he arrived home from work. My face with beam with pride and he’d pat me on the back and say, “You’re such a good mother.”
Okay, well, that’s an exxagaration. He doesn’t pat me on the back. And I don’t show him Lacey’s room and brag. And it woudln’t matter anyway because I obviously haven’t trained her right! So here goes mommy wtih a giant garbage bag into her room and this afternon, I’m purging. Purging her room.
Wish me luck.
These girls sure keep me on my toes.
See how Lucia is almost as tall as Lyla? There’s 18 months difference there and they share clothes.
Lucia likes helping me clean up, at least.
Speaking of mothers, last night, I shot a most fun amazing session with a dear friend and an amazing woman … she has seven – yes, you heard me right – seven GORGEOUS children and she is a TRUE inspiration. Just driving with them to all our locations last night, listening to her talk to her 16 year old son about life and still be able to reach back and calm down her three month old son while still having a conversation with me… wow…. she’s fantastic!
I know this sneak peek is out of line, but I loved this image … in the midst of six children running around, riding bikes, wading in rivers and telling us they’re ready for dinner 🙂 … we had a moment of bliss and love ….
Momma with her wee baby boy … these fleeting moments with your little ones are so precious … enjoy them, Pam. I know you are loving each and every minute of being a mommy!
Your family is gorgeous and I can’t wait to put up your FULL sneak peek! 🙂 Love ya, girl! xo
