Godmothers & Love

We have a true sweetie in our house – her name just completely suits her.

Lovelyn (who is five) adores her baby brother. Today, she cried huge sobbing tears of sadness as we said goodbye to her precious godmother, Kate, who had been staying with us over the holidays. {How Kate managed to stay sane while she was with us is a mystery to me! She put up with a lot of noise, early, early mornings, smoky woodstoves, a LOT of cooking, too much turkey, even more baking, crafting and mounds of sewing, a few (or many?) meltdowns and happy, silly moments … she is a true saint whom we love dearly!)

With Kate’s departure, Lovelyn was so heart broken. After a few minutes of tears, I handed Lazarus to my sad-faced little girl and she finally slowed down her crying … she loves to her hold baby brother … tender hearted and gentle, caring and nurturing, she cuddled her baby brother in her arms and rocked him in her rocking chair.

 What a joy  it is to watch each sister interact within this large, crazy, noisy family and to see moments of sweetness happening right before your eyes. {Yes, they fight, but I’m focusing on the positive!}

We have been blessed – in so many ways.

We love you, Kate! Thank you for spending the Christmas holidays with us! You. are. amazing.

And thank you, Lord, for blessing us with our seven children, as noisy and crazy as it can be sometimes.
It is great **fun** raising this bunch of lovely ladies and  one little gentleman!

Judith @ Lavender Cottage Dropping by to say hello. Brenda wrote down your blog address for me when we were talking at church this morning.
You have a beautiful family and I’m happy that you finally were gifted with a son. I imagine he will be the apple of his sisters’ eye.
