How to Build a Strong Christian Home {review and giveaway}

“There is no other place on earth that is more precious, more sacred, or

more important than the home. Whether it be simply humble or

luxuriously grand, there is certainly something special there to which no

other place could ever compare. Lives are lived out and golden

memories are made in this joyous place.

Sadly, this is not always the case. In fact, it is rare. We live in a fast-

paced society that is broken down, dysfunctional, and morally

disintegrating. For many of us, the purposeless way of life that we have

chosen for ourselves is leading us, and our families, down a dead-end

path. “
-How to Build a Strong Christian Home

Just this evening, I finished reading the above e-book, authored by June Fuentes, and given to me to review here on my blog –  and already, the thought-provoking words of the chapters swirl around my head … we can get so caught up in life, in the regular, every day routine, the jobs, the schedules, the tasks, the raising of children and managing to just stay alive in this hectic world … that we, as Christian parents, often lose sight of the true calling of a Christian home.  Going to church, Sunday School, Awana programs, even homeschooling … you may do all that as a Christian parent, trying to prepare a legacy of faith builders- but is there more?

And,  how do we get started in building this home? What is important in building a strong, mighty Christian family? What is not?  Are the daily events and happenings building up or tearing down your family? Are your family’s values lined up with the God’s word?

I absolutely loved this book – it covered Biblical-based topics that hit so close to home – from family devotions, seeing your family as a ministry and finding ways to work together for Christ outside and inside the home, protecting your home from ‘foxes’ of the world, and simply allowing your house to be a place of love and joy, radiating God’s peace. It doesn’t matter if your children are older and you feel as if it may be too late to change, God’s grace is sufficient – and it is NEVER to late to begin – or refresh and renew – a full-hearted approach to creating a God-honoring home.

Just released yesterday, this book has already hit #2 of Amazon’s Hot New Releases in the Christian Family category!  Amazing!

You can easily download it from the June’s blog, A Wise Woman Builds her Home.

Or …  you can simply leave a comment below here on my blog and your name will be entered to win a copy of the e-book How to Build a Strong Christian Home.

I’ll be re-reading the book {I love to read books twice!} and highlighting my favorite sections over the next week or so – I truly hope you will enjoy and be challenged when you read it, as well.

Alma Mater Sounds like a great book. It’s so easy to get tied up in a “rat race” of rushing from church event to church event, and making these things more important than the quieter, continuous work of training our children and modelling for them the peace and joy and contentment that we find in Christ. It’s such a tricky balance sometimes.
