At the Center.

Sons are a heritage from the Lord,
children a reward from Him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior,
are sons born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.
Psalm 127:3-5

Please, let me share the teaching that hit straight to my heart last week … from our kitchen, as I listened to a sermon by Dr. Michael Youssef  …

“If you leave God out of your life and out of your family’s life, it is useless that you would work hard to provide for your family.
All the trinkets in the world will mean nothing.

if you leave God out of your family’s life, all the goodies that you are able to give them will mean nothing.

….if you leave God out of your daily devotion and commitment, all the money in the world would only ruin them instead of help them.
If you leave God out of the center of your family, the inheritance that you leave them will turn out to be a curse and not a blessing.

We can live a frantic, self absorbed, efficient work ethic, but unless God is at the center of your family, your family will fall apart.

The Bible is absolutely clear from beginning to end … that the family is the backbone of society.

Weaken the family and sooner or later you are going to weaken society.
Destroy the family and sooner or later you will destroy society.

A lot of people talk about families … but listen,  a godless village is going to produce godless children, but only a Godly village will produce godly children.

This whole ‘children first’ may be popular but it’s not about focusing on the family but where does God fit in the family –
unless God is at the center of the family, the family is adrift … unsafe …

When God is at the center of a family …

God grows the family… God blesses the family…
God guides the family… God protects the family.

The family … it was God’s idea.”

miranda Not the first time you seem to be a wee answer to prayer Miss Gillian !
I have been struggling for so long to figure out how to help make our family financially secure and sound. I keep thinking that with the perfect career, will come the stability and safety I crave……
Every evening I keep praying the Lord will keep my eyes focused solely on Him, yet every morning I get up and grab my own desires and fears and work toward them.

What a shame to live a pointless, meaningless existence!
