Satisfaction of {Art}

“If we want our children to stay hungry for knowledge,
remain interested in questioning, enjoy the wonder of discovery,
then we must leave them some clutter-free hours for friendship,
the great out-of-doors, the rich world of imagination,
and the satisfaction of the skilled use of art supplies, music …”

-When Children Love to Learn

We were very blessed to have our cousins visit this Friday afternoon and spend a few hours with us … my cousin, Venessa, is a very talented artist in many areas – but today, we focused a little bit on water color painting …  both Venessa and I share a common view of teaching the Charlotte Mason way so when I found out how talented she was, I asked if she would come for an afternoon, drink some tea, visit and spend some time with the girls painting …

I have grand plans of inviting The Cousins back for more art lessons, tea and scones … and while in the winter we will be creative and imagine indoors, soon we will be sitting outdoors as the weather warms, watching spring unfold and bloom in all it’s glory, the warm May sunshine warming our bodies and encouraging our souls … and yes, holding a newborn baby while the girls paint and sketch the afternoon away …

Thankful to have found the beauty in today … {Venessa sketched the bunnies and Lacey painted them …}
