World at my Fingertips.

Soft, sparkling snowflakes are falling outside the window pane. Lucia calls them Sugar Plum Fairies {oh how I dream of taking her to see the Nutcracker!} … the quiet snow, swirling gently through the air, makes me feel like we’re looking through a snow globe.

It’s beautiful.

Baby Leia Hyacinth is learning the wonders of amazing food …

Her favorite right now is homemade oatmeal with {a smidgen of cinnamon} and apples. It’s so simple to make and it keeps her toasty warm.

It’s just one part oatmeal to two parts water – I only make a TINY bit at a time because 1) we don’t have a microwave for heating up and 2) it’s just that simple to make more. Mix up the water and oatmeal in a pot and cook on the stovetop for about 4 minutes. During this time, I usually add some tiny, finely chopped fresh apple pieces.

I blend it up {we use the Baby Bullet but you could use anything} and add a bit more water to make it smooth.

And done – easy, simple cereal for your little baby. {I love making homemade baby food because it’s way easier than going to the store, it’s healthier and it’s extremely thrifty!}

Makes momma happy.
Makes baby happy.

You may have noticed that I have stepped back a bit from my work lately. I’m only taking on a very limited number of clients right now. I am doing this on purpose – making a conscious change in my life, as a mom, as a wife, as the homemaker of our home, so that I can be there for my children and husband {who works a very demanding job as it is}. It has been an exciting and yet interesting change in my life, as you all know I love photography and my work … 🙂 … but I love {all} my babies more. And I know this is a short window of my life where they are little. I want to be there… not just around, but there. Intentionally there.

[This doesn’t mean I am quitting my work, but am venturing down some different pathways that still involve photography … very exciting for me!]

Yes, it has meant less money this year but it also has meant less stress, less worry and more time.

Time for moments like this …

Leia is growing so fast, learning to crawl … discovering new and wonderful sounds and movements …

She has been feverish lately … I thought it was a cold {up all night} but suddenly … there’s a tooth. First one. And first baby to pop a tooth before 10 months…

I wouldn’t trade this for the world.
