“You will never have this day again with your family.
Today is a gift..
Breathe and take notice.
Study your children’s little feet and faces.
Relish the charms of the present.
Enjoy today
for it will be gone before you know it.”
Little words to say today … except it’s amazing how you can change (or how God can change?) your attitude when you are struggling to stay positive or see the ‘happy’ in a situation.
But yesterday, as I sat on the fading Autumn grass, soaking in {some of the last of the season} sun rays …
making miniature bow & arrows for my girls {we are studying Canadian History in homeschool which involves a lot of Native stories so the girls are *completely* infatuated with this part of our history} …
… listening to Leia coo …
while the bigger girls ran throughout the yard, make believing and pretending …
.. it felt like …
there could be no better, happier place to be than in that moment.
P.S. On a side note … how cute are those little bow and arrows?
We’ve decided they will be our {homemade} Christmas presents for all our boy cousins and friends this year. I can’t take credit for this cute little project as I saw it on Pinterest from The Brooding Hen. Here’s the link. It’s a cute little craft to do with your children.
[We collected sticks, soaked them overnight in water so they would bend a little … made notched in the ends with a knife, tied dental floss from end to end and used Q-tips as arrows (just clip the ends off the Q-tips so the blunt end goes against the floss while shooting). It did take me longer than expected (I kept breaking the sticks) so if you do the project, soak a few extra in case you are like me and break 3/4 of the bows …. (oops). The girls really loved them – and they actually shoot pretty well!]
