“Always reward your long hours of labor and toil in the very best way, surrounded by your family.
Nurture their love carefully, remembering that your children need models, not critics,
and your own progress will hasten when you constantly strive to present your best side to your children.
And even if you have failed at all else in the eyes of the world, if you have a loving family, you are a success.”
In just a few weeks, we will be holding another sweet little baby in our arms … we will be entering into the newborn stage again … we will be choosing a name for our wee baby and we will be welcoming another sibling for our precious girls.
So many people have told me that five children will be a lot – that it will be a ‘handful’ – and while yes, I do agree that life is about to get busier (the laundry is pretty insane as it is with four kids!), there truly is no other way I’d rather be busy. We consider this new little one to come a blessing in our lives.
This pregnancy has been similar to the others and yet our ending will be different – we have chosen to do a home birth. {Eeeeek!} Yes … I know … I have heard many sides – pros and cons – to a home birth … but I recently witnessed a few very beautiful home births and was sold on the idea. When the midwives told us we could come by at any time and pick up the birth pool, Abby nearly passed out. “What?! How can it be time already? Are we REALLY doing this?!“, he said, with a deer-in-the-headlights-kinda-look on his face. Well, yes, we are doing this and well, we will see how it all plays out … but if this birth is like the others, they are fast and furious. {Here’s hoping it’s fast – not necessarily furious.} Maybe even while the girls are sleeping at night? Wouldn’t that be handy? 🙂
I have the sweetest friend … Heather of Duncan Photography willingly agreed to not only take on the task of doing some family maternity photos for us {what a sweetie!} but will also be *fingers crossed* photographing the home birth!
One from our maternity session … you can see more on her facebook page...
Our {possibly last} photo as a family of six.
