Since we’re celebrating Christmas week leading up to the big day on Friday, I told the girls we would do something “Christmasey” every day until Chrismtas day (um, not that we haven’t been doing that, but we’re just going to make sure we do LOTS of festive crafts and such before Christmas Day arrives!).
So today, we headed over to my BFF’s house and spent the day creating a huge mess in the kitchen and some big, lovely memories with our friends … the girls and I had a blast!
For any of you who are looking for a fun Christmas craft this week, here’s the recipe.
I got it the idea from Bakerella – although, seriously, nothing I EVER make will look like the yummy delicious treats featured on her blog!) … but we just altered it slightly.
Here’s the low-down.
You’ll need:
sugarcones
icing (festive colours are a bonus!)
cupcakes (use a mix! So easy!)
cupcake decorations – sprinkles, Smarties, anything you can decorate your Christmas tree with
melted chocolate
loud Christmas music playing in the background
lots of time for cleanup 😀
Lucia made sure she had lots of sprinkles ready for her tree …
While your cupcakes are cooling …
Melt the chocolate and then roll or drizzle the chocolate over your sugar ice cream cone. Oh, and make sure to do this with someone you love because then the fun it 10 times more lovely! xo Love ya, L!
Choose your sprinkles and decorate your tree.
Um, just make sure you save some sprinkles for your friends …
Lucia was very happy once she got her little fingers on the decorations ….
Ice your cupcakes…
and place your Christmas tree ontop of your cupcake. And voila! A yummy festive treat for the kids – or for you!
Sure helps that my BFF is a baker and has some handy fondant ready for the yellow stars … sweet. 🙂
Leanne, the day rocked! So blessed to call you my sweet friend! xx
