She just turned 12.
My sweet, lovely firstborn.
What a blessing she has been in our lives. Kind. Honest. Hard working. Quiet natured. Loving to her little siblings. She has, and always has been, a first rate helper to me. My right hand girl. I can’t believe she’s already 12 years old as it just seems like yesterday she was placed on my chest when the doctor said, “She looks like fine lace…”
My first baby – what an exciting time to be a new mother! Also, what little did I know then! I actually forgot to burp her for the first few weeks – yes, one of those details you just did not think of as a new, young mother! Oh, how life has changed – we have both grown over these past 12 years.
I thank God for our firstborn … and I look forward to many more years of watching her grow and flourish.

Gillian Maike, there are many resources for teaching high school. From tutors to online courses, the options are varied and quite flexible.

Maike Will you need to do an extra class? I think elementary is probably quite easy to teach at home but when it comes to the senior year and complicated math and deeper knowledge in everything it’s much more difficult.

Heather Such a beautiful photo & post! I love that the doctor thought she looked like fine lace 🙂 Based off this photo, I’d say that hasn’t changed!

Gillian Maike, thank you for the kind words. Yes, Lord willing, we will be homeschooling through high school. 🙂
