Pink Frosting …

Today, we baked cupcakes with pink frosting and delivered them to our new neighbours.

Mom “Sweet” pictures! And good decorating too, if I don’t say so myself ,,, your baking talent is beginning to bloom! xo

May 6, 2010 - 12:48 am

Tabitha Yum 🙂 Just finished baking some cupcakes of my own – hope they look as tasty as yours!

Bernard & Kimberly – a {love affair} to remember.

When Kim first e-mailed me to set up her session, I was so excited! We had just gone to watch Pinkalicious the Musical in Toronto where Kim plays Mrs. Pinkerton.

(Okay. STOP. HOLD THE PHONES. If you have a little girl, run as fast as you can to the nearest book store to buy Pinkalicious and then scoot your butt over to the computer to purchase your tickets to go see Pinkalicious performed live in Toronto as a surprise for your little princess – it will be the best mommy-daughter date ever! There. Back to the regular scheduled programing,  er, blogging.)

Well, as it turns out, Kimberly, aka. Mrs Pinkerton, is also a very amazing cellist and is working on her website, cd release, etc. this year and needed some images to reflect her style and so forth.

So that brings us to yesterday.

Think vintage dresses, my new amazing awesome prop that I just got last week, rivers, her cello, deep soulful music and an affair with the sunshine …. and that was her session. Kim, it was WONDERFUL working with you – and your awesome dad! – and I absolutely cannot wait to be a small part of your new, exciting venture …

Meet Kimberly and the love of her life, Bernard (her cello).

……. and introducing ….. my brand new prop for Gigi Photography, courtesy of Craiglist … this is the “item” I was mentioning on the facebook group ….

Can you see why I loved it so much?!  (Although my husband is going to be ready to kill me before the summer is over because he is Mr. Muscles for me and has to help me move this lovely couch around all the time!)

Find the Silver Lining.

Ever had one of those days? Pffftt. Who am I kidding? Of course you have.

They’re hard to get through, eh?

This is a rundown of my morning (for my friends on facebook, sorry, but you will hear me whine a second time!):

-Lyla flooded the toilets this morning (too much toilet paper) – it literally spilled all over and flooded the bathroom floor

– treck out to the grocery store with the three girls … you know the kind of store that has only boxes so your groceries weigh about 60 lbs per box and you’re supposed to pile all those boxes in with your two kids in the cart?! Uh, yeah, I don’t think so.

– realize I still needed to find a location for today’s (awesomely-super-fun) session – drive around, three kids getting hungry as we dangerously approach lunch hour

– get home in time to start unloading the groceries which were quickly requiring refigeration after the long morning location-search-drive

– door opens and dog runs away … I chase her … bring her home, scold her …

– doorbell rings and voila, answer to my prayers, the Mr. Invisible Fence Man shows up to give us an estimate – which, at this point, I don’t care what it costs, I KNOW we need it!

– spend 45 minutes with Mr. Invisible Fence – kids are whining, crying, so hungry for lunch – so they break into the groceries and start ripping apart the cereal boxes to get a snack

– dog runs away again, I chase her.

– Lucia wakes up from her quick nap in the car, pees in her car seat. Mr Invisible Fence Man is still here. Pee and all.

– Finally, putting away groceries. Kids are STARVING. Lunch is made …

– Laundry needs to get up on the line and two other loads, awaiting their turn, are tossed into the washer.

– Try to call a client but the number I wrote down is wrong – kids are very loud in the background … so send them outside …

– Lyla decides to draw all over the ceiling of our new truck with pen – daddy finds out, freaks out and  nearly has a heart attack (not literally) as he’s dragging my new prop into the front yard  where he has to unload the Suburban seats YET AGAIN for me so that the prop can fit into the truck…

– decide there’s no way through this day without something awesome … so I pulled out the ice cream cones and topped them up with my favorite ice cream (mint chocolate chip – thank you, Michelle!) and the kids were ECSTASTIC.

All is calm now, all is good. Dinner is made and one little L is napping … we’re getting our Invisible Fence next week and I couldn’t be happier. 🙂

But focusing on the positive, I have an amazing opportunity today to shoot a session for Kim Persona, aka. Mrs. Pinkerton from Pinkalicious the Musical. I went to see the show with the girls last year and we loved EVERY second of it! Really looking forward to working with Kim today!

And I had an awesomely-fun maternity session on the weekend … Jennifer, who is having her third baby boy soon, has been bringing her family to me for quite a few years now – it’s so awesome to have a friendship with your clients, as well!

A BIG thank you to Chris from Parson’s Florists for letting me use her fence! Thanks, girl! xo

Jenn, I might be able to post another sneak peek for you soon… just wanted to share a few because I know you’re dying! 😉

Now I’m off to get ready for another session! Hope you all had a much more tame Monday than in the Gauthier household!

May 3, 2010 - 11:33 pm

Tabitha What a day! Good luck with the invisible fencing. Love the maternity shots – it’s so “spring”!!

May 3, 2010 - 8:55 pm

Jenn Thanks for making me feel so fabulous! Sorry you had one of those days. For some reason today, I decided would be a great day to take the kids to the zoo. By myself. Eight months pregnant. The kids had fun! We have had invisible fence for Kenobi for about 9 out of his 10 years, and LOVE it. If you need any help or suggestions, let me know and I will email you more info. Thanks again, especially love the one of Peter and I, I think I’ll go give him a kiss!

May 3, 2010 - 7:59 pm

Tara I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one who has days that make me think that today is day I’m going to lose my mind..Yup it’s today! Love the maternity shots with the flowers!!! Spring colours are sooo amazing!

May 3, 2010 - 4:40 pm

Catherine Yes, we all have days like that. It makes the good days all the sweeter! Love how you handled it! A good ice-cream cone does wonders…

May 18, 2010 - 12:07 pm

Picnic for a family of Four + baby bump. » Gigi Blog […] this is a session I just absolutely loved! (Sneak peek #1 was here.) Jennifer brought her vintage tins … she brought fresh flowers and a picnic blanket …. […]

Sweetness …

It is beginning to thunder outside my bedroom window … the 100 year old pane is braced open .. and the girls and I are listening to the rain begin to fall through the branches and new-budding leaves of the old maple tree that stretches out towards my window. I love a beautiful spring rain … bringing forth the greens & vivid colours of our natural landscapes … it’s so soothing for the soul, as well … like a little washing from Heaven …

We can all use that washing once in a while, can’t we? Tonight, a group of my girlfriends and I are getting together and spending some time in prayer & conversation (and good food!).  I realized the other week that we often carry such heavy burdens on our shoulders alone and very rarely do we have time to *really* share with others – who care very much – how much of a burden we bare. Some burdens may seem small to others, but to you, it’s a big deal. And it hurts to carry stress and pain alone. So tonight, we are bonding, underneath the rain and the thunder from Heaven, to help each other out, to pray for each other and to lift up our needs to the Heavens.

Here’s a sneak peek for one of my lovely, awesome clients, Lita, who has worked with me for years now. 🙂

Her family has been so blessed to welcome their new little girl into the world … Baby Alexandra … who surprised us all by weighing 10.1 lbs at birth! Lita, you deserve an award!  Hee hee!

She’s so beautiful!

Tanya @ Life in 3D I love the sound and the smell of the rain right now too…so fresh. My grandma’s name was Lita! I’ve never heard of anyone else with that name! So precious 🙂

Little Boy Blue ….

This little guy completely stole my heart – oh, what a cutie pie you have on your hands, Tabitha!!

We had so much fun at his mini session – these sessions are 45 minutes long and are specifically for your little babies between the ages of 6-10 months … it’s a fantastic age to capture that cuteness!

Don’t believe?

See for yourself! We’re still taking bookings over the summer months – don’t miss out … 😉

P.S. We’ve hit week 14 with this pregnancy! I’m trying to convince hubby that we should find out what we’re having … what do you think …? Should we keep it a secret or just find out and not tell anyone?

May 1, 2010 - 11:19 am

Catherine I say wait!!! But just because that’s what I always did, doesn’t make it right for you. At the end of the day, it’s your call. Not even Abby gets to decide that one!

April 30, 2010 - 6:31 pm

Emily Dilloway gorgeous, as usual!!! and i say… find out!

April 30, 2010 - 6:31 pm

Emily Dilloway gorgeous, as usual!!! and i say… find out!

April 28, 2010 - 1:53 pm

Tanya @ Life in 3D Find out!! Even if it’s just for you and hubby, if it’s a boy you’ll have a lot of shopping and planning to do 🙂

April 28, 2010 - 1:13 pm

Tara I just love it!!! These pic make me can’t wait for our mini-session..dresses bought and bows are being made..hopefully smiles all around!

April 28, 2010 - 10:23 am

lori It is really a personal thing. I agree with others it is nice to be prepared with all the things needed and room decorating. The surprise of boy or girl is special but so is all the other things like how they look, eye, hair colour, weight & size of baby. Good Luck with your decision! (I found out with first not second!)Kidda backwards?

April 28, 2010 - 7:53 am

Shena You need to find out and tell us! Definitely!

April 27, 2010 - 11:16 pm

Kerry Gorgeous pics!!! I have to say we did not find out what we were having with our first. And I REALLY wanted to know with our second. My husband is old school and he was the one who did not want to know. And I have to say… it is worth the wait. Not that in the moment you are totally “excited”, but it is everything leading up to that point. And for our families too. I wouldn’t change what we did for anything:)

April 27, 2010 - 10:10 pm

Grandma Gerr What an adorable little guy! Tooo cute!

April 27, 2010 - 10:03 pm

Shannon Ok, first of all…..LOVE LOVE LOVE the 3rd picture!! Secondly, YES YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO FIND OUT AND TELL ALL OF US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

April 27, 2010 - 10:00 pm

sharon v He sooooo makes me smile! 🙂

April 27, 2010 - 9:56 pm

Tabitha OMG Gillian!!!! I *love* them!!! I can’t wait to see more, though I think I already know which I want on canvass!!! Thank you so much!!! As for finding out….I have no will power and found out with all three of mine, lol!

April 27, 2010 - 9:47 pm

Jamie A Don’t do it… Rarely are their moments in life where you are truly surprised. Love to see new baby bump pictures!!

April 27, 2010 - 9:46 pm

Courtney Aw, what a beautiful little boy! I love his hat in the second picture!
P.S. I think you should wait and see what you’re having! There aren’t too many surprises left in life, and this is one of the ones you can have control over! That’s what the hubby and I are doing =)

April 27, 2010 - 9:45 pm

Tara aww the first pic reminds me of my blue-eyed, blonde-haired baby boy! SO cute!
I didn’t want to find out with baby #1, but hubby convinced me to find out. I was SO glad that we did. Found out with baby #2 as well. I actually find it frustrating now when someone I know decides to not find out because I LOVE to shop for them and I don’t like to buy gender neutral stuff. just my opinion though. 🙂 I think it’s a surprise either way!
