Working On.

Today was a SUPER, amazing fun day in the studio …….I love days like today where a group of women work together to create something so beautiful, unique, fresh and very artistic.

We’ve been working on photos for a new jewelry line, called Elanne & Ivy -the photos will be used on the website, which is to be launched over the next week or so.

Here are a few of the shots from today … {a big thank you Kati Van Wyck for the amazing makeup artistry!} We had an absolute blast working together …. such a great group of ladies!!

Keri Today was amazing!! So. Much. Fun!!!

Fairy Dust.

I’m not sure it’s possible, but somehow in the blink of an eye, my little Sweet Pea Lucia turned three …. how is that even REMOTELY possible? {slow down time, please} I still remember the SECOND she was placed in my arms in the hospital for the first time. I was SO happy to have another girl! And she is so different than all her sisters …. sweet and sassy, definitely – or perhaps that’s just the terrible twos with a few months extension … 😉

One of my favorite times with Lucia is Friday nights. The bigger girls go to the Awana program here in town, Lovelyn sleeps (or at least is supposed to sleep) and Lucia and I get to have mommy-Lucia time. We watch movies together and cuddle up in bed together. It’s fantastic. Having a big family means you have to find that time to spend one on one and it’s not always easy. I feel guilty leaving one girl out if I take another with me on a date, often times they want to do things together and not be separated or sometimes, it’s just not feasible to spend a lot of one on one time if it’s been a busy week. It’s something I want to work on this year  – having one on one time with each girl. All to myself.

We celebrated Lucia’s third birthday with a Tinkerbell party …. it was SO much fun (if you live in the Orangeville/Geulph/Waterloo area, you MUST check out Kricket n’ Crew – she is amazing as Tinkerbell!!)

The girls made Pixie Dust ….

The girls were enthralled!

Lucia loved her fairy wings … 🙂

Happy birthday, Lucia! My life would not be complete without you!! xo

Sierramagic Wow, now that is an amazing party! I just stumbled across your blog and fist let me say your photos alone are so beautiful. The party it’s self looks like the most fun time ever for a Mom and her girl.
How did you come up with the great party idea? I hope if I have a daughter I will be able to think up great party’s like this.

There are some days I feel overwhelmed. Not with stress. Not with life.

[Don’t get me wrong – there are THOSE days, too.]

But with the amazing blessings God has given to me … to our family ….

Four healthy children. A home. Our faith in God …

And I know, I KNOW there is more …. there is more to life … more to our family’s story … and we just have to step forward to find out where it takes us.  If God has blessed you, you’re not supposed to hoard it and hide it inside – you’re supposed to share it … right?

Lovelyn has filled such a sweet little cozy spot in our lives. It’s amazing how each new baby just slips right into the family tree and holds their position with so much love.

The girls love her.

Little Sister and the Big Sister …

She certainly will not have to look far for playmates and friends in her future – her sisters will be right there for her. [Lord, let that be so!]

I found out the other day that I won a necklace from this blog here – this is the story of this blogger, Rachel, who in the last month had her family grow from four to seven through adoption.

Talk about being blessed & overwhelmed!

Rachel’s adoption story is beautiful and amazing – I completely cried while reading it … how can there be so many unwanted, unloved children in our world? 132 million orphans in the world. But three beautiful children were blessed this Christmas when Rachel and her husband listened to their hearts and opened their hearts and their home – their lives – to these three beauutiful children. Amazing. Absolutely beautiful.
But let’s face it – adoption is not easy, especially financially. Rachel is selling these lovely necklaces (like the one I won from her blog) to raise money for their adoption funds …

Here’s the deal. I’m giving away one of the fantastically, gorgeous necklaces to one of my blog readers – (randomly chosen) – if you will just leave your name here in the comment section. But while you’re at it, go over and check out Rachel’s blog and see if you’d like to purchase any other necklaces to help with their adoption fundraising. (The link is on the right hand side of her blog.)

Maybe this is  one way we, being blessed, can bless this family in return!

domestic extraordinaire those necklaces are beautiful!!

Blue is out – Pink is in.

Finally!! Studio pics!! I’ve had a few emails asking for pictures of the studio. Truth be told, the studio is not much -a room attached to our house, not big at all …. but, I’ve been working away at giving it a fresh look.

You can see the old studio here. {We had just moved in, so it eventually was less empty looking …!}

Annnnnd, here is what we’ve done ….

… and yes, it’s pink.

replaced the woodstove …

one of the new-to-me hutches ….

… bribery tools!!

wall sample sizes …

the second hutch  …

I love frilly lights!!

p.s. I found the girls doing their own photo shoot today …… so I quietly video taped them! (As you can see, toys replace clients when I’m not shooting …) I have some assistants in the making!! And yes, that is my camera ….

Here is one of Lacey’s photos …

Not bad for an almost 7 year old!

{Blessings} x3

Wow – 2011 is already look AMAZING! My {only} sister and her family are moving back to Ontario after 4.5 years away from our family …. yipppeeee!!!! [and they will be living with us for a few weeks – we are going to have lots to blog about – two sisters, a hubby & brother in law,  six kids, two dogs and lots of cooking!!] … I’ve been contacted to be a part of a very fun and awesomely exciting project this spring  and my six year old is reading like a champ! Yay for progress! It’s the little things in life, guys … isn’t it? She read a bedtime story to her sisters tonight and it was awesome. Absolutely awesome. Definitely tops my Yahoo List for 2011!

So the studio isn’t officially ‘open’ for bookings yet – I really want to take it nice and slow this winter as Lovelyn will only be a baby once and she is already growing so fast … I hate rushing through the first year of baby-ness … but that being said, I have a really hard time turning away newborns when I realize how quickly they change and grow. You really have to capture them right away or else it’s just not the same … the first week of life is awesome.

Baby Tessa came to the studio a few days ago and she was amazing and completely wonderful the entire time – slept like a baby. 😉
Her parents are so blessed with three beautiful children – what a gift from God!!

Such a sweetie.

{Sassy Sweet Pea, folks!!}

I love love love love love your eyes, Devon!

Amazing. A daddy’s love – like no other!

Congratulations, Devon & John!! You are blessed!!
